External partners
In the second year students will carry out a ‘professional integration project’ culminating in a final performance event. These projects will be organised by the students themselves, working in collaboration with external professional and educational organisations, partnered with each higher education institution.
The nature of collaboration with the external partners
The collaboration between the Joint Music Master and its external partners is a valuable long-term relationships that is mutually beneficial. The external partners support the programme with their expertise, guest lecturers, advice and work placements for students whilst the JMM programme introduces the external partners to enthusiastic new professionals (musicians, music creators and event organisers) and their innovative ideas. This results in different organisations having the chance to exchange their assets in a cross-sector musical interaction.
Examples of external partners are:
Globetown Action Zone

These personal achievements will be equally respected and valued as we work with commitment in an environment of inclusion”.
The aims are:
1. Providing enrichment to the curriculum
2. To raise standards through the development of education and social inclusion
3. Strengthening partnerships between schools, families and the wider community.

The Concertgebouw, Department of Education
The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam is one of the most famous concert halls in the world and is known for its wonderful acoustics. Dating from 1888, the building is the centre for classical music in The Netherlands, staging approximately 900 concerts every year with an attendance of nearly 810,000 visitors in all.
The Concertgebouw Department of Education organises a programme of projects for pupils from both primary and secondary schools. An emphasis is placed on listening in this educational programme, and the activity of listening becomes much more appealing to students when they are actively involved in projects. Therefore, the Concertgebouw Department of Education programme gives pupils the opportunity to play and sing themselves, as well as creating their own musical programmes and performing. This approach has given over 30,000 pupils the chance to become familiar with numerous musical genres including classical, world and jazz.
In addition to projects such as these the Department of Education develops courses and workshops for very young children or the whole family, as well as activities involving singing and playing for adults.
